Smith Machine For squats
This is a popular squatting exercise that is utilized by many gym trainers. I strongly believe with evidence that this exercise should only be used by people who have been in fitness for some time and never anyone who is beginning or on their intermediate stage of fitness.This is because, this exercise only allows movement in a fixed plane of motion which is not ideal if you are trying to work out muscles of your whole body.
We know that, a squat is a whole body exercise and mostly works the gluteal and the harmstring muscles, perfect for ladies who desire to have a curvier and shapely bum.
However, a squat can also help you lose weight and tone your whole body as it also works your core and arms as well as the back especially if you use the free weights (dumbbells).
Another reason why you should avoid the smith machine for squats is that due to it's fixating motion, you are likely to hurt your back more as well as your knees.
It gives you less opportunity to look for your own body balance which is very vital for everyone performing a squat as an exercise.
If one performs so many smith machine squat exercises, the back and the knees should hurt a lot and this can discourage you from continuing with your fitness routine.
So keep off the smith machine for squats. Use the free weights while performing your squats and;
Add the following exercises to your squatting routine;
Lunges
Planks
They work on your chest and this is a perfect breast lift exercise for women, they also work on your abs and your core as well as your arms and neck and your whole body in total.
This exercise is responsible for those really "sexy backs" you ogle at.
Side planks
Perform at least 30 sets of each daily and you shall see a great change in your body.
PS: Do not forget to control your portions coz remember, for you to lose weight, the total amount of calories consumed must be less than the total calories burned. The difference is your calorie loss per day, which amounts to weight lost after some time.
