Nowadays, wheat has been negated as the enemy number one when it comes to weight loss.
Most fitness gurus will warn you to keep off wheat so as to lose weight.
I know this may appear controversial to most of you but I stand with truth.
Wheat is not and has never been your enemy. Take a look at yourself right now and answer these questions to yourself.
- When did you realize you had gained weight?
- How long before that, had you been eating your bread peacefully?
If you gained weight the moment you started eating bread or wheat products, then we can say that in this case, the wheat is your enemy. All other foods constant.
Anyway, I'm here to speak on behalf of wheat.
wheat is a nutritious food just like all other foods, it contains loads of energy and macro nutrients in trace amounts that benefit the body, to be precise, it contains vitamins and minerals in small amounts.
Whole wheat products also contains large amounts of fiber that help improve your bowel activity and eliminate problems like constipation.
If you look back, you will notice that wheat has always been used even long before you were born.
In Jesus' time, they always used wheat to make the leavened and unleavened bread. I ain't sure if the women of those days used to complain of weight gain due to consumption of wheat, but I'm sure that wheat has and is still very beneficial to us.
So who is the enemy here
The enemy is yourself.
The wise men once said that, too much of anything is poisonous.
This in this context applies to the fact that, any food however nutritious it is, if over consumed, can result into weight gain.
For Example;
If from today you make a new year resolution of being a fruits only junkie, and you eat your fruits in large volumes, you will still gain weight.
This is because for one to gain weight, the amount of calories consumed has to exceed the amount of calories being burned down.
Eat all the "good" foods in large quantities, you still will gain weight.
it's not the darling wheat.
Unless you are allergic to wheat, those with gluten issues, then wheat is not the problem here.
So what's the cut;
The cut here is for you to learn to control your portions.
Eat only when hungry and hydrate very well.
I will attach a guide at the end of this article on how an adult female and male should control your portions and never gain any weight even when still consuming your wheat.
Remember, taking a full balanced diet in your meals is essential. Do not be pre-occupied with losing weight and forget that you are supposed to be supplying your body with the relevant nutrients from various food sources inclusive of wheat.
